Annual Junior Awards Ceremony Celebrate Academics, Service, and Citizenship

With graduations and moving up ceremonies coming to an end, it’s time to celebrate the future Wantagh High School class of 2027 as they begin the path to graduation. The annual Junior Awards Ceremony, presented by the Wantagh High School Guidance Department, honors students who excel in academics, service, and citizenship.
On June 4th, a combination of book and scholarship awards from schools such as Rochester Institute of Technology, Tulane University, Sacred Heart University, University of Virginia, University of Chicago, and Harvard University, were awarded to 23 juniors in front of family and friends.
Various members from the guidance department, including Director of Guidance Frank Muzio, shared that these students represent the pinnacle of academic excellence during his final address as the department head. This awards ceremony not only celebrates student’s hard work and achievements, but also symbolizes the transition of leadership from the class of 2026 to the class of 2027.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr. Guzzone, Dr. Widdman, Mr. Nick Pappas, Ms. Psihos, Ms. Gordon, Ms. Zarrella, Mr. Tallarine, and Frank Muzio, who shared thoughtful remarks about each awardee.
