PARP Week Ends with Engaging Author Visit
Students at Mandalay Elementary School had a fun end to PARP (Pick A Reading Partner) Week with a special visit from children’s author, illustrator, and designer Daniel Jude Miller.
During his engaging assembly, Mr. Miller shared his journey as a writer and the creative process behind bringing stories to life. Students learned about where authors get their ideas and were encouraged to use their own imagination when reading and writing.
Keeping the children engaged, a blue monster would appear throughout the stories which was a fun way to make sure children were listening, resulting in, “MONSTER!” each time it appeared.
PARP Week is all about celebrating the joy of reading, and this memorable visit helped spark excitement for books throughout our school community. We thank Mr. Miller for sharing his passion for storytelling with our students!
