Cheers, Dancing, and Fun Shine With Middle School Spirit
Wantagh Middle School’s annual fall pep rally brought the campus spirit to life as students, athletes, and faculty filled the football field and bleachers in a celebration of school pride. The event highlighted the fall sports teams including football, soccer, cheerleading, cross-country, and kick line. Event MC’s Mr. Cippoletti and Ms. Hult introduced each student who ran, flipped, or rolled into centerfield before performing a fun team 20-second skit.
In between each segment, the pep band led by band teacher Ms. Babcock entertained the crowd with short musical performances to keep the energy flowing throughout the stands. Additional performances included the middle school kickline, and the middle school cheerleaders.
While the rally shined the light on the fall athletes, it was the final performance by the faculty that steals the show each year. Continuing a beloved tradition, the faculty kick line took to the field showing their unity dressed in denim shirts and jeans to thunderous applause. Teachers traded in their grade books for high kicks, pom poms, and big smiles reminding students that school spirit runs deep across every corner of the building. The annual performance, receiving a double encore, was both entertaining and inspiring, showcasing the strong bond between staff and students that makes the Wantagh community unique.
With Warrior pride on full display, the entire school community left energized and ready to cheer on their teams throughout the fall season.
Two weeks before the pep rally, the Student Council held a “Tatts for Teachers” fundraiser where students purchased tattoos and assigned them to a staff member to wear for the day. Over 100 tattoos were purchased and 30 teachers and staff members participated in the fundraiser benefitting the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
