Twilight Academy Class of 2025 Hosts Heartfelt Graduation

The Twilight Academy at Wantagh High School celebrated two new graduates on Wednesday, June 11 in front of family, friends, and various members of the school community. The ceremony was a collaboration between BOCES and Wantagh School District with the support of a special group of teachers who teach a special group of students led by Wantagh Twilight Academy Coordinators Dr. Bennett and Mrs. Kline.

The graduation address was given by BOCES Administrator Dr. McLaurin and Mr. Moran, Wantagh Twilight Academy Principal. Mr. Moran told students that their presence is a testament to their incredible resilience, unwavering determination, and spirit. “You haven't just learned; you've actively created an environment that fosters creativity, sharpens critical thinking, and accelerates personal growth. These aren't just skills you've acquired; they are the bedrock upon which you will build a fulfilling lifetime.”
Closing remarks by Twilight Coordinator Dr. Bennett. The students were reminded by BOCES Twilight Principal, Dr. McLaurin, that they will be part of a community that will be forever a part of their lives, and that sometimes the struggle makes things sweeter because you know what you’ve been through.
