Voting in the Annual School Budget election is an important mechanism not only for exercising your constitutional rights, but also to insure your role in the future of our educational system here in Wantagh. School District Annual Budget and Trustee Election
is scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024. Candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition, according to January, 1979 New York State Law. Each vacancy upon the Board of Education to be filled shall not be considered a separate office. Petitions are available at the office of the District Clerk. Nominating petitions must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters or 2% of those who have voted in the previous election, whichever is greater. Candidates are urged to exceed the required number in case an audit reveals signatures that are not valid. Each petition shall be filed in the office of the District Clerk between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., no later than Monday, April 22, 2024.

Votar en las elecciones anuales del Presupuesto Escolar es un mecanismo importante no sólo para ejercer sus derechos constitucionales, sino también para asegurar su papel en el futuro de nuestro sistema educativo aquí en Wantagh.  Las personas interesadas en información adicional pueden comunicarse con el Secretario de Distrito al 516-765-4103.

El Presupuesto Anual del Distrito Escolar y la Elección de Fideicomisarios
está programada para el martes 21 de mayo de 2024. Los candidatos para el cargo de miembro de la Junta de Educación serán nominados por petición, de acuerdo con la Ley del Estado de Nueva York de enero  de 1979. Cada vacante en la Junta de Educación que se cubrirá no se considerará un cargo separado. Las peticiones están disponibles en la oficina del Secretario de Distrito. Las peticiones de nominación deben ser firmadas por al menos 25 votantes calificados o el 2% de los que han votado en las elecciones anteriores, lo que sea mayor. Se insta a los candidatos a superar el número requerido en caso de que una auditoría revele firmas que no sean válidas. Cada petición se presentará en la oficina del Secretario de Distrito entre las 8 a.m. y 5 p.m., a más tardar el lunes 22 de abril de 2024.
