Document Scanning Instructions

Using one of the following methods to scan registration documents will create files that are legible and simple to upload from your mobile device.  During the registration process, you will be prompted to upload indiviual documents within a section.  Please be sure to scan and name each document separately to ensure the district receives the required files to complete online registration.

How to Scan Documents on Your iPhone

You can use the Notes app to scan documents and add signatures on your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Notes and select a note or create a new one.
  2. Tape the Camera button iOS Camera Icon, then tap Scan Documents iOS Scan Icon.
  3. Place your document in the view of the camera.
  4. If your device is in Auto mode, your document will automatically scan.
    If you need to manually capture a scan, tap the Shutter button iOS Shutter Icon or press one of the Volume buttons.
    Then drag the corners to adjust the scan to fit the page, then tap Keep Scan.
  5. Tap Save or add additional scans to the document.

How to Scan Documents on an Android

If you're using an Android, the best way to scan documents is through the Google Drive app.

  1. Open the Google Drive app Google Drive app. If you do not have it installed on your device, download it here from the Google Play Store.
  2. At the bottom right, tap Camera Android Camera icon.
  3. Point your device’s camera at a document. A blue line outlines the document. This indicates where the picture will be cropped.
  4. Take a photo of the document you’d like to scan. Optional: You can toggle automatic capture by choosing between Manual and Auto capture.
  5. Adjust your scanned document.
    • Adjust Scan area: Tap Crop & Rotate.
    • Adjust the color, or make image grayscale: Tap Filter.
    • Erase stains, fingers, and more: Tap Clean Android Erase icon.
    • Scan another page: Tap Add Plus Android Icon.
    • Retake the photo: Tap Retake Android Delete icon.
    • Delete a page: Tap Delete Android Delete icon.
  6. Tap Done.
  7. Create your own file name or select a suggested title.
  8. Optional: To select the Drive folder where you’ll save the document, tap Location.
  9. To save the finished document, tap Save.
