Dressed as pilgrims and Native Americans, kindergarten students at Forest Lake gave thanks during an elaborate feast and singalong to the delight of teachers and families.
The afternoon commenced with the students’ performance of Thanksgiving songs and the recitation of the poem titled “We Are Thankful.” The students then filed into the cafeteria to their tables decorated with handmade placemats and centerpieces, which showcased five things for which they are thankful.
Principal Anthony Ciuffo said the feast was the culmination of an interdisciplinary unit in which students read about and researched the nation’s first settlers and used their artistic talents to decorate the tables and entertain parents.
