Wantagh High School students took steps toward planning their academic futures through attendance at the district’s first of three college mini-fairs, held on Sept. 10. Director of Guidance Frank Muzio said 50 representatives set up tables in the gymnasium with information about national and regional colleges and universities for students exploring options after graduation. The annual event parallels the guidance department’s focus on aiding juniors and seniors in the college application process.

Mr. Muzio said, “College mini-fairs are the perfect opportunity for students to engage in the college application process. By directly speaking with the representatives, the students gain valuable information about colleges of interest and perspective programs of study.”

During the month, students and their parents are also invited to attend College Information Night and Financial Aid Night, which introduces families to important terms and procedures, calendar deadlines for applications, financial aid options and tools for students and parents to evaluate colleges and resources.
