The Board of Education reorganized for the 2019-20 school year during the annual July 2 meeting held at Wantagh High School’s auditorium.
Kera McLoughlin was sworn in by district clerk Elaine McGuigan for an additional three-year term, and newly elected trustee Laura Reich was sworn in for a first term on the board. In addition, the board nominated and elected Elizabeth Guber as board president and Adam Fisher as vice president.
During the annual meeting Ms. Guber and Ms. McLoughlin were also recognized for their participation in the New York State School Board Association’s School Board U, which provides board of education trustees with the skills necessary to meet the challenges of board governance and fiscal accountability. Ms. Guber received the NYSSBA Board Achievement Award and Ms. McLoughlin received the NYSSBA Board Mastery Award.
