Arielle Combs, an eighth-grade student at the middle school, was a Top 10 Award winner for her contest entry to the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese Long Island Chapter Design-A-Card Contest. Her design will be made into notecards to raise scholarship money for the Long Island Chapter 39 Scholarship Fund.
The Design-A-Card Contest is an opportunity for students to create an original Hispanic design for the front of a blank notecard. Entries are judged on originality and uniqueness of design, artistic quality and representation of Hispanic and Portuguese culture.
The District congratulates Arielle on this outstanding achievement.
Through a commitment to educational excellence in a secure, supportive environment, the Wantagh Public Schools shall inspire students to develop a strong sense of individual worth and respect for others, to become lifelong learners and independent thinkers, and to fulfill themselves as concerned citizens in a diverse world.
