Members of the high school’s jazz ensemble and chamber orchestra shared the gift of music during a holiday performance for retired teachers who attended December’s Wantagh Retired Teachers holiday meeting at the public library. The student-musicians, under the direction of Jen Alessi and Dina Langer, respectively, performed holiday tunes to the delight of the audience.
In addition, the high school jazz ensemble performed during the Wantagh Preservation Society’s holiday tree lighting event on Dec. 9. The ensemble was led by student conductor Melissa LoPiccolo.
The district thanks the students for spreading holiday cheer in the community with their beautiful voices and instruments.
Through a commitment to educational excellence in a secure, supportive environment, the Wantagh Public Schools shall inspire students to develop a strong sense of individual worth and respect for others, to become lifelong learners and independent thinkers, and to fulfill themselves as concerned citizens in a diverse world.
