A talented cast and crew drew a full house during performances of John Caird’s “Children of Eden,” held in the high school auditorium on Nov. 29-Dec. 1.
Under the guidance of play director Heather Naughton, vocal director Jennifer Alessi and choreographer Kim Davis, the cast amazed the audience with the two-act musical with lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. Based on the Book of Genesis, Act I told the story of Adam (Carlo Tobia) and Eve (Bella Ninivaggi), Cain (Owen Huber as Young Cain and John Sileo) and Abel (Aidan Schroh), while Act II tells the story of Noah (Brandon Schroh) and the flood. Assistant Principal James Brown played the part of Father. Although biblical in content, the play was focused on the universal themes of family and love.
The success of the play was not only due to the stellar on-stage talent, but to choreographed numbers with puppetry and lyrics, including “Let There Be,” “A World Without You,” and “Ain’t It Good?”
