BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNIZED FOR SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY
During the Oct. 18 public meeting of the Board of Education, members of the PTA organizations and the student body honored the trustees for their volunteer service to the district and community. Board Recognition Week is an annual celebration sponsored by the New York State School Boards Association, which honors the trustees’ commitment to public education.
High School representatives to the board Katie Browne and Melanie Volz presented commemorative plaques to the trustees. “We would like to thank the members of the board of education for all of the time they put into making our school environment a wonderful place,” Katie and Melanie said. “Words cannot express how appreciative the entire student body is of you all. Thank you so much for your efforts, sacrificing your time and everything you have done for our schools.”
Through a commitment to educational excellence in a secure, supportive environment, the Wantagh Public Schools shall inspire students to develop a strong sense of individual worth and respect for others, to become lifelong learners and independent thinkers, and to fulfill themselves as concerned citizens in a diverse world.
