DISTRICT WELCOMES NEW ADMINISTRATORS
The district is pleased to announce the appointment of four new administrators for the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
Ryan Aliperti has been appointed Humanities/Literacy K-5 director. Ms. Aliperti was previously an elementary school assistant principal in Massapequa Public Schools and has extensive experience as a literacy coach with Always Learning, LLC/Eastern Suffolk BOCES. She holds a bachelor’s degree in both history and art history from Providence College, a master’s degree in childhood education from St. John’s University and a certification in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.
Tobias Daempfle left retirement to serve as the district’s interim science/technology education director. He previously served as k-12 science director and as science coordinator (pre-K-12) in the West Hempstead Union Free School District. Mr. Daempfle holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and a professional diploma in administration and supervision from Queens College, as well as a master’s degree in education from St. John’s University.
Hired with the task of managing the district’s facilities and transportation services is Director of Facilities and Transportation Thomas Fucci. He most recently served as director of facilities in the Freeport Union Free School District and formerly as assistant director of facilities and operations in the Jericho Union Free School District.
In line with the district’s expansion of the science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics program, Scott Jackson has been appointed STEAM K-5 director. Mr. Jackson began his career in the Merrick Union Free School District in 2003 and has most recently served as assistant principal at Chatterton Elementary School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in elementary education from Hofstra University, as well as advanced certification in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.
