    Voting in the Annual School Budget election is an important mechanism not only for exercising your constitutional rights, but also to insure your role in the future of our educational system here in Wantagh. Complete information about registration and voting procedures is distributed in advance of the annual election via the District’s budget brochure, which is mailed to all residents.     School District Annual Budget and Trustee Election
    is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education shall be nominated by petition, according to January, 1979 New York State Law. Each vacancy upon the Board of Education to be filled shall not be considered a separate office. Petitions are available at the office of the District Clerk. Nominating petitions must be signed by at least 25 qualified voters or 2% of those who have voted in the previous election, whichever is greater. Candidates are urged to exceed the required number in case an audit reveals signatures that are not valid. Each petition shall be filed in the office of the District Clerk between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., no later than Monday, April 19, 2021.

    Thursday, May 6th - Budget Hearing 
    Saturday, May 8th - voter registration
