The Jerusalem Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution announces the winners of the 2020-2021 DAR American History Essay Contest. The topic for the middle school students was "The Boston Massacre". The students were to imagine they were living in Boston and after witnessing the events of March 5, 1770, describe their family's discussion about the Boston Massacre and what role it played in organizing the colonists against the British King and Parliament.
Wantagh Middle School students are to be especially recognized, as this project was entirely voluntary. Judging was based on historical accuracy, adherence to the subject, organization of material, interest, originality, spelling and punctuation, grammar and neatness.
