    Dear Wantagh Community.

I am pleased to announce that Wantagh High School was one of sixteen high schools in Nassau County that were designated by the New York State Education department as a Reward School. This designation means that the school has met required benchmarks on English and mathematics Regents exams and was named as a “high performing” school. Congratulations to all of our students and staff on this accomplishment!

We are diligently working to prepare the District Budget for the 2018-19 school year. We are offering four separate budget workshops for all community residents. There will be three evening workshops on Monday, March 12, Monday, March 19, and Monday, April 9, starting at 7 p.m. in the Wantagh High School cafeteria. For those unable to attend the evening workshops, a morning budget workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 11 starting at 10 a.m. in the Wantagh Public Library Community Room. I hope you can join us for one of the sessions.

Our District Research Project has continued and we are putting together data from across the community to help us build our five year strategic plan. Last month I held a series of parent focus groups and I thank all of you that were able to attend. The feedback that we have received through our surveys and focus groups has been extremely valuable.
