Mr. Brinkman is a native of Buffalo, NY and holds a Masters of Science degree in Music Education from The Aaron Copeland School of music at CUNY Queens and a Bachelors of Music degree with a concentration on the trumpet from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. He is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the New York State School Music Association for Music Educators, the New York State Band Directors Association, and the Nassau Music Educators Association. Mr. Brinkman is a faculty member of the Wantagh School District where he teaches band and electronic keyboard and holds his Professional New York State Teaching Certification in K-12 Music. He was previously on the music faculty of the Pelham School district where he taught 4-12 band and general music.
In trumpet performance Mr. Brinkman has been a member of the Tappan Zee Bridgemen, Pelham Sock 'n Buskin Theatre Company, Clarkson Pep Band, and Clarkson Theatre Company. He also maintains a trumpet and beginning brass studio.
Mr. Brinkman's other hobbies include following the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres, golf, working out, swimming, and antiquing.
