The 2012 Wantagh Homecoming had all the makings of a crowd pleasing spectacular production! The festivities began with a parade including the homecoming court perched atop convertibles, school board members and administrators strolling with students, the marching band providing a spirited musical score and of course, the class floats representing this year’s theme...Broadway!
At the high school, the crowds filled the stands and the players took the field against rival New Hyde Park. The Warriors provided some exciting plays and were leading at the end of the second quarter.
The halftime celebration proved that the marching band and dance team had moves like Jagger while the cheerleading squad provided thrills with skills during their routine. The sophomore class hit a high note winning best float with their Rock Of Ages design and seniors Anthony Falco and Alyson Hopkins were crowned Homecoming King and Queen.
The football players returned to the gridiron and finished off the game with a victory and a final score of 21-7. Bravo to the Wantagh Sports Boosters for organizing such an entertaining Homecoming!
